Commenced my career with Unilever and then moved to SB (GSK), during their merger years. Later, joined Jardine Matheson/Olayan JV in the Middle East, where I handled business development and logistics alongwith Finance. Moved to Pepsi in 1998 and was Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan. In 2005 started Engro Foods as CEO. It became a leading FMCG company in Pakistan. Engro Foods among several performance awards, won the G20 Global Top 15 Companies award. The first Pakistani company to get this award.
In my spare time, I do mentoring and coaching for younger executives and college leavers and give motivational speeches at relevant events.
"I roamed the countryside searching for answers to things I did not understand. Why shells exist on the tops of mountains along with imprints of plants usually found in the sea. Why thunder lasts longer than that which causes it. How circles of water form around the spot which has been struck by a stone, and how a bird suspends itself in the air. Questions like these engaged my thought throughout my life" Leonardo Da VinciAfter spending 27 years in market research in various roles took and early retirement from the role of chairperson Kantar. Now I am focusing on social research and learning to teach; loving this phase of life as I did my previous one and hope to do something new everyday.
