In 1992 Shakeel began his career writing copy at JWT. With every tagline that reflected his intuitive strategic flair and eye for the bigger picture, he drew deeper into the world of Strategy and Account Planning. His early knack for strategic creative work led him to Pakistan’s premier media group Jang as Business Development Manager, a role that cemented his lifelong love for Media and its contribution to brand building. In 1996 he joined OrientMcCann as Media and Business Director on HSBC, Coke, Reckitt and Gilette. His successes at Orient earned him the title of Regional Director at Interflow. Under Shakeel’s watch, Interflow’s revenues doubled, gaining him a place on the Executive Management board. Hordes of great campaigns and crazy hours later, Shakeel rejoined Jang Group as Director Marketing and Sales to launch GEO. The brand became an immediate success and stands to date as an example of brilliant brand building. With GEO and Interflow exemplifying him, by 2006 Shakeel was picked by Ogilvy&Mather to launch brand Ogilvy in Pakistan as CEO and Chief Creative. Shakeel’s leadership quickly won Ogilvy some of Pakistan’s biggest and most exciting brands: KESC, Coke, Mondelez portfolio (including Cadbury and Tang), British American Tobacco, Warid, Nestle and Unilever brands to name a few. During his tenure, Ogilvy grew to become one of Pakistan’s most formidable agencies with the revenues to match. Shakeel also launched SohoSquare at Ogilvy and by 2009 Ogilvy had become Pakistan’s 2nd largest agency by revenues. For all his strategic-savvy, Shakeel is really a storyteller at heart. Aggravated by the institutionalized and sanitized advertising around him, Shakeel went on to found Slingshot in 2014, a Creative Camp that specializes in strategically-sound storytelling, from Ideation to Execution. This old-school/new-age agency model of Slingshot met with quick success. Slingshot produced over 40 ad films in just two short years, and won a couple of big local clients to boot. However the only thing Shakeel loves more than a good story is a good challenge! And so today he is back on home ground as CEO of Interflow, excited to shepherd in his ethos of disruptive (and always productive!) creativity that takes no prisoners.

An avid learner with an entrepreneurial spirit, Amin has co-founded start-ups in marketing communication and technology. He has over two decades of local and international experience in integrated marketing communications starting with advertising. A long-time advocate of the creative application of data and technology to solve problems, Amin’s exposure to digital strategy and analytics began from the early days of the industry with a leading digital marketing firm in the US working on projects related to integrated customer experience, cross-channel media optimization and ROI-based measurement models. He also led marketing for one of the pioneers in cloud-based health information which was listed among the top 5 on Forbes Fast tech 25 companies in the US.

Seema went to Mount Holyoke College, USA and pursued academic instruction in politics, economics, literature, film...and all things wonderful. Her background combines Socio-economic Development with an expertise in Communications. She followed this up with a stint at Central St Martin's in film. She joined the advertising business and it was love at first sight! She produced a television show on advertising "The Big Idea", which won her the “Exceptional Contribution Award” from the Pakistan Advertising Association. Seema taught, spoke, wrote and produced many a campaign. Won awards. Lectured at various educational institutions. Seema has also served as Council Member for the Marketing Association of Pakistan, & Special Olympics Pakistan. She is currently board member of APWA RLCC (Raana Liaquat Crafts Colony; CIRCLE - A platform to advance women’s economic participation and empowerment; & FOCUS - A platform for the business of media & entertainment. Seema has served as a juror for Communication Design & Media Studies theses at the IVSAA, Szabist, Habib University as well as juror for She Loves Tech & Nest Startup Women's' Weekend. Seema is also a member of the Karachi Biennale 19 Committee. Seema is involved in pro bono communication work for a number of organizations including TCF, Special Olympics, RLCC & Karawan e Hayat. Seema is member of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) & on the Organizing Committee for ADASIA Lahore 2019.

A Modern Political History graduate from University of Karachi, Mahrukh Shaikh has been in the Advertising industry for over 12 years now. She started her advertising career at Adcom in 2006, later joining Ogilvy & Mather Pakistan in 2011; returning to her roots at Adcom Leo Burnett as the Agency’s Creative Director for the Karachi portfolio in 2013. In 2017, Mahrukh finally decided to venture out into the creative wilderness of ideas and content with two equally inquisitive and creative partners as the co-founder and idea whisperer for WUNDERNERF.

Khadija Hashimi is Head, Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing with Standard Chartered Bank, Pakistan and is a member of the Bank’s Country Management Team, responsible for driving commerce and prosperity through the Bank’s unique diversity. Khadija builds the narrative internally and externally with stakeholders and profiles the Bank through marketing the Bank’s products, services and business segments through disruptive and client focused interventions. In the process, she protects and enhances the bank’s reputation and delivers on the brand promise. By education, Khadija attained a MS in Mass Communication from Boston University, USA and a BSc in Management from London School of Economics, UK. She has additionally attained the Certificate in Director Education from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Ejaz is Head of Media Studies and Sr. Fellow Marketing at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) since January, 2011. He has industry experience of just over 37 years in the fields of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Advertising, and has worked with leading MNCs and local companies, including Unilever, Gillette, Philips, Orient McCann-Erickson and UBL. He has worked overseas with Gillette in Brazil, and in UAE where he was working as Marketing Manager Gillette Middle-East from 1992-1994. He has contributed articles on Marketing-related subjects to publications such as MAP’s Marketing Review and Aurora – a publication of the Herald Group, over many years. He has also been on the Council of the Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) for about 15 years and was its President in 2005. He joined the Jury Panel of PAS at the time of launch of the Awards, and had been on the panel every year.

Chief Creative Officer at Spectrum VMLY&R, Zohra Yusuf joined the agency in October 1986. Prior to that she worked at the Dawn Group of publications, first as an editor and later as General Manager, Research & Development. Her career in advertising, however, goes back even further. From 1971 to 1981 she worked at MNJ Communications in various capacities, learning the art and craft of advertising from Javed Jabbar. Apart from overseeing the development of advertising campaigns at Spectrum VMLY&R, Zohra is responsible for the training of creative talent – a task she enjoys as it involves interacting with young people. Many well-known names in the advertising profession currently started their careers under Zohra’s guidance. Apart from advertising, Zohra Yusuf is a deeply committed human rights activist and has served as Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission for two terms. She remains an HRCP’s board member.

Saima is a veteran researcher and marketing strategy expert. Her career spans across more than 25 years and stints with major MNC and Local Organizations on the client and agency side. Academically a Clinical Psychologist and a mother of three, (a girl and two boys) she managed her home and career simultaneously. She played a pivotal role in developing and propagating qualitative research in Pakistan, turning it into a viable research method. However, she did not limit herself to this only and broadened her horizon, into Quantitative methods and Social research. Bringing in international models to Pakistan has also been her forte and she was one of the pioneers in introducing Millward Brown and TNS Products to Pakistan, particularly, brand health Tracking, Link Test, Needscope etc. Saima is an avid reader, and loves to read, history, classic fiction and certain contemporary authors as well. As the media landscape has changed with the advent of digital evaluating media in this arena as well as deriving consumer insights from digital platforms has been his focus in the recent past.

Kiran Sardar Kohati – Head Media and Marketing Services, HBL - is a well respected and seasoned professional with almost 20 years of diverse experience in marketing, advertising, media, brand & commercial proficiency, with a diversified portfolio of brands. Aly Mustansir began his professional life with Unilever. He spent a significant part of his career with the company in Pakistan and abroad, and was responsible for major assignments including launch of Wall’s Ice Cream in Pakistan, turnaround of the Sri Lankan ice cream business, and relaunch of the 50-year old Lifebuoy brand. In 2006, Aly joined HBL (Habib Bank Limited) as Head of Marketing & Brand Management where he relaunched the brand with a new positioning and corporate identity, and centralized Marketing for all businesses of the bank across the globe. During his tenure, HBL was awarded the “Buzziest Brand” in the financial industry. In June 2013, Aly joined the Abu Dhabi Group in Pakistan as the Chief Marketing Officer of Bank Alfalah. He relaunched the Alfalah brand and restructured the marketing process and organization. In 2017, Bank Alfalah received a Superbrand nomination as well as other marketing awards including a PAS Award for Best Financial Services Campaign. Sarwar Khan has been in the media/advertising industry for almost 20 years and is currently working with Maxus (groupm) as Managing Director. He started his career in 1999 with mullenlowe as a media planner and after five years left them as Director Media Services. Noaman leads Kantar in Pakistan as Managing Director. He is associated with Kantar for the last 5 years and can be credited for the successful launch of Millward Brown in Pakistan. In the last 2 years he has effectively brought together all brands in Pakistan under the roof of Kantar. Before Kantar, Noaman was at another WPP company – JWT, as their National Planning Director. Ehtisham is the General Manager - Marketing at Candyland Pakistan. Being the head of marketing of Pakistan’s leading confectionary, he oversees a diverse portfolio of more than 40 brands spread across 10 categories. Ehtisham has a versatile commercial background with a forte in marketing strategy and innovation management at several multinational and local companies like J&J, Abbott Consumer, Tapal and Engro Foods. During the course his career, he has had the opportunity to lead marketing functions for different markets in the MENA region. His credentials also include experience in retail excellence and revenue growth management. Mr. Eqan Ali Khan has over two decades of diversified leadership experience in corporate strategy, business operations, marketing and business development. Pepsico Pakistan marketing was awarded best marketing unit in the Business unit competing with 8 different countries. After leaving Pepsico, Koraishy worked at Damas in theUAE in the luxury retail industry as Marketing Head covering UAE and 11 markets in the region.
