Mahmood Nanji has had an illustrious career spanning over 30 years specializing in marketing and sales in both multinationals and leading national companies. His career also spreads across the boundaries into General Management positions. He is known as an agent for change as he has brought about out of the box changes and growth in companies when needed most.
Having done his bachelor’s from the University of Karachi in 1971, he got his BBA from the Central State University, Oklahoma. On his return to Pakistan to attend to his ailing father he finished his MBA from the University of Karachi from where he started his marketing and advertising career with one of the most pronounced advertising company of that era namely R. Lintas, after which he was picked up by Lever Brothers Pakistan where he launched Blue Band Margarine.
From Lever Brothers he moved on to EBM and then left for US and worked for WalMart. He once again came back to Pakistan and rejoined EBM as Vice President Sales and Marketing. He also had a privilege to work as a Marketing Director for Millac Foods, Tapal Tea, Clover Foods and Meindhart, Singapore. He went on to join U.G. Foods (Ulker) as Chief Operating Officer. He also worked as an advisor to Mehran Sugar and helped the successfully launch Sugarie and with Unifoods for setting up their consumer division for its brand Good Goodies.
He is currently now engaged with a manufacturing, servicing and distribution concern helping them to formalize their operations and training their management on business processes and ethics.
A former Rotarian and an avid sportsman, Mr. Nanji has been an anchor on two television shows by the name of “Brand Power” and “Stories of Success”. He has conducted a four-hour session on Television on Seven Habits of a Highly Successful person and also hosted a Radio show called “Brand Bolta Hai”. Nanji has also taught at the IBA and currently is teaching sales and marketing courses at SZabist and in his free time he loves writing.
