We are back with the Third edition of two day Bootcamp “Re-Thinking Marketing the Effie Way”!

Highly interactive and case study based, the bootcamp will focus on fundamentals of marketing providing a robust foundation for your future campaigns. Participants will break down the challenge and come up with innovative solutions setting the tone for effective case writing followed by a mock jury session to give you an insight into what jurors look for and what makes an effective case that will win you an Effie.

In an offsite setting, it will be the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in learning, challenging and exchanging views in a fun and relaxing environment.

Currently serving as the Marketing Director at Unilever, I spearhead the Hair Care portfolio within the Beauty & Wellbeing business unit in Pakistan. More recently, I’ve served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Tapal Tea and Director Marketing at Shan Foods, iconic local brands with global reach. Across those experiences and the ones before, I have honed my skills in crafting compelling brand narratives and driving impactful marketing strategies. My extensive experience across various categories including disposable diapers, laundry, home care, dish wash, hard surface cleaning, foods, hot beverages, and beauty products has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics.

Moreover, my active involvement in industry associations such as the Pakistan Advertisers Society, where I served on the executive council and conducted workshops on Marketing 101 and Effie case writing, coupled with my tenure as an Effie Pakistan Jury member for six consecutive years, underscores my commitment to fostering excellence and innovation within the marketing domain. Furthermore, my background as a qualified board director and my pursuit of continuous learning, exemplified by my completion of a diploma in Football Business Management from the Johan Cruyff Institute, attest to my adaptability and passion for staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices.

Umair Saeed

A communication planning and strategic management professional with over two decades of experience. I’ve had the privilege of building and leading some of the finest teams in the business of marketing communications with top agencies across Pakistan. Over the years I’ve helped build and grow an array of multinational and local brands thru creative, media, content, activations and PR solutions; with strategy & planning at the heart of it all.

As a firm believer in the positive influence of knowledge sharing, I mentor future leaders at business schools and professional training initiatives; serving on the board of advisors for School of Leadership, board of faculty for management sciences at SZABIST University, a trainer and mentor at British Council’s DICE (Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies) initiative, and with top business schools like IoBM and Habib University as an adjunct faculty for Marketing, Advertising, and Media Science programs.

I’ve been associated with communication planning and strategic marketing throughout my career, having previously worked with Insync Hip Media, Manhattan Leo Burnett, DDB, and Blitz Advertising.
