Asad is a media and marketing leader with a career spanning multinational corporations, media agencies, and broadcast networks across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. His work blends creativity, technology, and transformation and is anchored in a deep understanding of storytelling, brand building, audience engagement, and organizational change. His most recent position was CEO-Designate at Hum Network Ltd, one of Pakistan’s largest media conglomerates, operating across entertainment, news, sports, and events. At Hum, he led a transformation agenda to build a future-ready media group - modernizing its content, commercial, and technology frameworks while driving cloud migration, AI adoption, and digital revenue diversity. His mandate extended from redefining the network’s core entertainment and news offerings to developing next-generation platforms in streaming, creator monetization, and data-driven media. Prior to Hum Network, Asad founded So&So Partnerships, a Dubai-based media and technology consultancy advising start-ups and enterprises on organisational transformation, digital product strategy, and generative AI adoption. His firm has worked across industries to build scalable frameworks for content, commerce, and communication in the age of automation. He also advised numerous legal firms on AI Policy and Governance Frameworks. Asad’s earlier career includes senior global and regional leadership roles at Unilever and WPP’s GroupM. At Unilever, he served as a Board Member for MENA, Turkey, and Russia, leading the company’s digital and media transformation and accelerating e-commerce integration, advanced analytics, and creative effectiveness. At GroupM, he helped establish and grow agency operations in Vietnam and in Pakistan and had a global position in the London HQ. He also contributed to various initiatives in the UK, Indonesia, and Mexico. Recognized for his contributions to the industry, Asad was the Founding Chair of The Marketing Society Middle East (2016–2018) and was awarded The Marketing Society UK Fellowship (2019). He was also named Effie’s Marketer of the Year (2018) and has served on juries for Cannes Lions, Festival of Media, and Effie MENA (Jury President, 2021). A frequent speaker at global forums — including Cannes Lions, The Marketing Society Global Conference (London), Festival of Media (UK), and Seamless Middle East (Dubai), Asad is known for his perspectives on the intersection of creativity, technology, and business growth. He is a qualified AI Governance Practitioner and an active advocate for responsible innovation. Asad is also a qualified non-executive board member through Financial Times Diploma program. Beyond media, he serves on the Board of Gems Jumeirah School System and advises multiple start-ups in communication technology and AI.
