Farhan Ahmed is the Head, External Communications and Public Affairs at Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Ltd. In this role he leads the function with a view to create opportunities and provide strategic insight to all the business lines in order to achieve an increased share of voice in the minds of external stakeholders.
Farhan is a seasoned communications professional with over 19 years of diverse experience with renowned FMCG and banking organisations in Pakistan. Before joining Standard Chartered, he was the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at HSBC Bank Middle East Limited. He started his professional career with Nestle Milkpak Limited and worked in the sales and marketing function of the organisation for 5 years in various capacities; last as the Manager Food Services business for South (Sind and Baluchistan).
Farhan holds a Master in Business Administration degree with majors in marketing from the College of Business Management, Karachi. He is very passionate about promoting education and has facilitated courses on Personal Selling and Sales Management at his alma mater. He is actively involved with the Pakistan Innovation Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of the Executive Committee of Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Centre (EMEC) at IoBM. A disruptor at heart he enjoys training and mentoring young entrepreneurs across the country.
He is an ardent social worker and is associated to the Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre. He also works closely with the CSR association of Pakistan and other reputed charitable organisations.
He is an avid reader and a weekend cyclist with a keen interest in a number of sports including cricket and football.
Farhan is married to Nadia and has three children, two sons and a daughter.
