Sunil Gupta

Sunil Gupta has spent over four decades in the marketing communication industry. He is a man of many parts. He commenced his advertising career in 1978, after completing his MBA. Till 2002 he was with JWT India in senior positions and worked with the largest MNCs and Indian Business Groups. Since 2002, he represents two global advisory firms in South Asia; Results International Group LLP and Aprais Worldwide Ltd, both headquartered in London. Sunil is also a Consultant and Trainer in Brand Communication and has visited Pakistan often on such assignments. He has been a guest lecturer in prestigious business schools in India, including IIM-Lucknow. His first book on his experiences in the Indian advertising industry (Living on the ‘Adge’ in JhandeWalan Thompson) was published in 2009. He has also contributed to an anthology by eminent authors and personalities on the COVID-19 pandemic titled, The Phoenix Rises – Lockdown Chronicles in 2020. His third book, Final Innings, a psychological drama set in the world of cricket was published in November 2020. Additionally, Sunil is also an accomplished theatre actor & has performed in over 50 plays in India, Moscow, St Petersburg, as well as in Lahore in the Rafi Peer International Theatre Festival. He has acted in the movies Talvar, Mom, and Vijaynagar. He has recently performed in The Family Man and Breathe-Into the Shadows (Prime Video). Furthermore, he is an established cricket commentator on AIR, a panelist for the BBC podcast Stumped, and has done TV commentary for the Star Sports Pro-Kabaddi League. Sunil lives in Gurgaon, India, with his wife Sunita, their two daughters and three temperamental canines.
